Quintin Smidzik (MEd, LAT, ATC) joined the Valparaiso University Sports Medicine staff in January 2021. Smidzik serves as the athletic trainer for the Valpo softball program while also working with women's tennis, men's golf and women's golf. 

Smidzik spent the previous two years as a graduate assistant at Wichita State University, working with the Shockers softball program. He graduated from Wichita State in May 2020 with his Master of Education in exercise science.

Prior to his time at Wichita State, Smidzik was an undergraduate athletic trainer at Iowa State University, where he earned his bachelor of science in athletic training in 2018. He worked with the Cyclones softball program during his time at Iowa State. Smidzik also worked as an athletic training student with the football programs at both Iowa State and Drake during his undergraduate tenure.

Smidzik has earned numerous certifications and awards and is a member of several athletic training associations and societies.
