Valparaiso University’s Jarad Miller (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll H.S.) has been named to the Louisville Slugger NCAA Division I All-American Third Team as announced on Thursday by Collegiate Baseball newspaper.

Miller set Valpo’s single season save record this year with 17, ranking second in the nation this year.  He posted a 2.16 earned run average in 25 innings of work while opponents hit just .178 against him in 2008.

“I am excited to see our guys are finally getting recognition on a national level,” head coach Tracy Woodson said.  “Jarad had a great year and truly deserved this honor.”

For his career, the sophomore right-hander has a school-record 26 saves

Miller is Valpo’s first All-American since 2001 when Mark Pedersen was named to the Second Team.
