Crusader Season Ends with 3-1 Setback to Milwaukee
Saturday marked the fourth straight day Valparaiso got a strong pitching performance in the 2010 Horizon League Baseball Championship presented by U.S. Army, but for the second time in the tournament the Crusaders suffered a 3-1 loss to Milwaukee at U. S. Steel Yard in Gary, eliminating the Brown and Gold from the championship.

Crusader Baseball Set for Horizon League Championship
The 2010 Horizon League Baseball Championship takes place at U. S. Steel Yard in Gary, Ind. as Valparaiso hosts the league's annual postseason tournament. The Crusaders, the tournament's fourth seed, will face Butler on Wednesday morning in the opening game of the event, which will run through the weekend. The league champion will earn the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Valpo Baseball Opens 2010 Season Friday
After posting their first winning record since 1999 one year ago, the Valparaiso Crusaders return to the diamond in 2010 looking to build upon the momentum that was created last season. Head coach Tracy Woodson's squad returns 20 players from the team that went 28-24 in 2009, and posted a 12-11 mark in Horizon League play, placing fourth, the highest for the Brown and Gold since joining the conference.

Valpo Baseball Adds Nine for 2010 Season
The Valparaiso Crusader baseball team and head coach Tracy Woodson have announced that nine student-athletes have plans to attend Valparaiso University beginning in the fall of 2009 and will play for the Brown and Gold in the spring of 2010. Joining the program are incoming freshmen Andrew Bain, Matt Carroll, Mike Jacobs, Karch Kowalczyk, Ben Olejniczak, and Greg Stiller along with junior college transfers Robbie Robinson, Will Robinson, and Corey Thibault.
