Valparaiso University’s Kyle Gaedele (Arlington Heights, Ill./Rolling Meadows H.S.) has been ranked as the number two prospect out of the summer Prospect League, formerly known as the Central Illinois Collegiate League, according to Baseball America.

Gaedele, playing for Hannibal, led the league with 30 steals and ranked second in triples with five.  A 6’4” outfielder, he was timed at 6.5 seconds over 60 yards at the league’s all-star game.

A 32nd round draft pick by the Tampa Bay Rays in 2008, Gaedele hit .278 for the Crusaders with three homers and eight steals in his freshman season last year.
