Tuesday's Baseball Game Moved to 7:05 pm CT

The start time for the Valpo-Notre Dame baseball game Tuesday has been pushed back to 7:05 pm CT at Four Winds Field in South Bend, Indiana.

First pitch was originally scheduled for 4:35 pm CT.

Valpo (9-11, 1-2 Horizon) at Notre Dame (9-17, 1-11 ACC)
Four Winds Field - South Bend, Indiana - 8:05 pm ET/7:05 pm CT

The two teams met just six days ago on the same field as Notre Dame claimed a 4-1 victory behind a solid start from Nick McCarty. Though the Irish touched him up for two first-inning runs, Crusader starter Ellis Foreman was supremely efficient through the first five frames, expending just 45 pitches. Valpo's offense did not do much to support the right-hander, who yielded four runs in seven innings of work. Michael Morman had a pair of singles, but he was only one of two Crusaders to reach base more than once - Jeff Edwards being the other.

Valpo will again trot out Foreman as the redshirt freshman is attempting to shoehorn his way into the weekend rotation. Notre Dame will counter with Scott Kerrigan, a 6'7'' junior, who missed all of 2013 after surgery on his labrum. It'll be Kerrigan's third start of 2014 and the righty is in search of his first win. He's walked six and hit three batters in 10 2/3 innings thus far, but Kerrigan has also struck out eight.

Both teams are seeking to find their offensive stride. As a team, Notre Dame is hitting .235; Valpo is batting .230. The Fighting Irish have dropped three 1-0 games already, including last Friday's series opener versus Wake Forest. The Biggio brothers combined to drive in and score a run in last Wednesday's matchup between the two teams.
