Eleven hits and eleven runs batted in last week fetched senior infielder Shea Molitor (Plymouth, Minn./West Lutheran [Des Moines Area CC]) Horizon League Batter of the Week honors. Molitor boosted his batting average from .330 to .362 following his five-game offensive onslaught. Four of his eleven hits went for extra bases: three doubles and a grand slam. Molitor now leads the Crusaders in the RBI department with 30.

Molitor's batting average and RBI total both rank third in the Horizon League. His 1.03 runs batted in per game rate equal a league watermark.

He collected eight RBIs during Valpo’s three-game set with Oakland this past weekend. Molitor opened mid-week play with a 4-for-5 performance at Western Michigan that included a pair of doubles and two runs batted in. He was responsible for the lone RBI in Wednesday’s tilt at Notre Dame.

Molitor and the Crusaders will resume HL play this weekend with a doubleheader at UIC on Friday followed by a Saturday twinbill at home versus Milwaukee. Valpo will travel to Chicago State on Wednesday afternoon during mid-week play.
