Snow in Indy Wipes Out Sunday’s Scheduled Doubleheader

The Valparaiso University baseball team has announced that Sunday’s scheduled doubleheader at Butler has been cancelled due to inclement weather.

Significant snow hit the Indianapolis area on Saturday morning, leaving Bulldog Park unplayable. Game 2 was initially scheduled for Saturday, but the two teams altered the schedule following Friday’s game with hopes of playing two on Sunday. The contests will not be made up.

Valpo won what turned out to be the only game of the series 9-2 on Friday behind 7 1/3 strong inning from freshman pitcher Jon Tieman, who allowed two runs on seven hits and one walk.

The Crusaders are scheduled to be back in action on Tuesday at 3 p.m. as they host Ball State in the home opener at Emory G. Bauer Field. Live audio (95.1 FM, WVUR) and stats will be available.
