David Macchi, Valpo's all-time leader in total offense and passing yards, has signed a professional contract to play quarterback for the Bergamo Lions in Italy. Macchi, who established 11 school records, helped the Crusaders capture the Pioneer Football League Championship in 2003.

Connor Jostes threw two touchdown passes and rushed for another to lead Drake to a 37-10 Pioneer Football League victory over Valpo. The Crusaders scored their touchdown on a 5-yard run by Joe Milazzo in the fourth quarter. Andrew McCawley added a 47-yard field goal in the final period.

San Diego Defeats Valpo in California

Todd Mortensen passed for three touchdowns and rushed for another as San Diego defeated Valpo 49-14. Valpo (3-5, 0-2 PFL) scored its touchdowns on a 4-yard pass from Dustin Shamburg to Kenny Keil and on a 5-yard run by Jeff Horton.
