Daniels, Knutson Selected To Academic All-District V Team

Valparaiso University football players Chris Daniels and Kevin Knutson were selected to the CoSida Academic All-District V University Division Team by the district's sports information directors. District V is comprised of schools from Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Ontario and Manitoba.

Daniels, a senior from Peoria, Ill./Notre Dame, has earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.249 in finance. A cornerback, Daniels leads Valpo with six pass breakups and has made 30 tackles overall. Daniels is a two-time Academic All-Pioneer Football League selection.

Knutson, a senior from River Falls, Wis./HS, has earned a 3.746 cumulative grade point average in chemistry/biology. A wide receiver, Knutson tops the Crusaders with 31 receptions for 467 yards and a team-high five touchdowns. Knutson, who was also accorded Academic All-District V honors in his sophomore season, is a two-time Academic All-PFL selection and was named to the I-AA Athletics Directors Association Academic All-Star Team in 2003.

Daniels and Knutson's names will now be placed on the ballot for Academic All-America.
