Valparaiso University's Jeff Horton (Saint Louis, Mo./Lutheran North H.S.) has been named the Pioneer Football League Offensive Player of the Week after surpassing Valpo's single season rushing record on Saturday against Drake.

Horton rushed 28 times for 227 yards (8.1 per carry) and scored two touchdowns on the ground. He also caught seven passes for 65 yards and a score to give him 292 yards of total offense and three touchdowns on the day.

His rushing total was second best in Crusader history, behind his school record total of 254 set earlier this year. He also broke Valpo's single season rushing record and enters next weekend's season finale with 1,172 yards on the year.
