Valparaiso redshirt freshman Jake Hutson (Blanchard, Mich./Montabella) shared Pioneer Football League Offensive Player of the Week honors after putting together one of the top offensive performances in program history in the Crusaders' 41-21 win at Campbell.

Huston posted the second-highest rushing total in a single game in Crusader history, carrying 28 times for 248 yards while also adding three receptions for 52 yards. 159 of Hutson's rushing yards and all three of his touchdowns came in the second half, helping to rally Valpo from a 21-13 halftime deficit and giving it a 34-21 lead.

The redshirt freshman ranks third in the PFL in rushing yards, totaling 629 yards over Valpo's first nine games. Hutson is also tied for second in the league in six rushing touchdowns, and is also among the league's top-five in all-purpose yardage.
