Valpo and Butler will match up not once, but twice this spring.

The Valparaiso University football program, in conjunction with the Pioneer Football League, announced an updated spring 2021 schedule on Tuesday, highlighted by the fact that Valpo and Butler will match up twice this year in the league’s longest-standing rivalry.

Valpo will open the season with a trip to Indianapolis on March 13 before hosting Butler in Week 3 on March 27. The Brown & Gold will play two-thirds of its schedule against teams known as the Bulldogs, as the revised slate also features a home-and-home with Drake (March 20 at Brown Field; April 3 in Des Moines).

Valpo will visit Morehead State on April 10 before concluding the six-week regular season by hosting San Diego on April 17. The Pioneer Football League champion will receive an automatic berth to the NCAA FCS Championship.
