During a Spring 2021 season where the Valparaiso University football program increased its performance in competition, the squad also elevated its output in the classroom.

Valpo placed 56 student-athletes on this year’s Pioneer Football League Academic Honor Roll, which was released by the conference on Monday afternoon. This marks a 15 student-athlete jump in honorees from head coach Landon Fox’s first season in 2019.

This represents the eighth consecutive campaign Valpo has boasted 40 or more PFL Honor Roll members. It is also the second-highest total in program history behind the program-record 60 honorees in 2018.  

Pioneer Football League athletic directors and coaches established the honor roll in 2001 as a way to recognize the league’s outstanding student-athletes. The PFL Academic Honor Roll consists of student-athletes who participated in football at member institutions during the spring semester and posted a 3.0 grade-point average or higher during the semester while enrolled full-time in accordance with NCAA rules.
