Brown Field will be the place to be for Valparaiso University students and community members alike on Saturday afternoon. Saturday’s game is sponsored by Philips Ace Hardware.

As the football program takes on Ivy League foe Dartmouth, the University will celebrate the return of home football with a free tailgate for Valpo students from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the Fitness Center Lawn, which is located on the corner of McIntire Court and Union Street. Chicken wings, tacos and other snacks will be available as well as yard games.

In addition, all students who attend the game, which begins at 1 p.m. at Brown Field, will receive a free Valpo Beacons t-shirt. Admission to the game is free for all students who present their Valpo OneCard.

In addition, any fan who shows that he or she has downloaded the Valpo Athletics app or scans the QR code to download at Saturday’s game will be entered to win a Valpo fan pack. The drawing will take place during the fourth quarter.

Saturday’s game will be Valpo’s first against a member of the Ivy League since 1999. Sunny weather is forecasted with a projected game-time temperature of 79 degrees.
