Sherman Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

The Valparaiso University football team was represented as CoSIDA announced its Academic All-District Team for District 5 on Thursday with senior defensive back Kohlton Sherman (Millington, Mich. / Millington) receiving recognition for his academic and athletic success.  

Sherman was named a CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree – one of 31 players to make up the team, which is comprised of Division-I college football players from the states of Indiana, Illinois, Michigan and Ohio. He was among eight defensive backs named to the District 5 squad.

Sherman, who owns a 3.48 grade point average in accounting, ranks third on the Beacons with 54 tackles this season. He has accrued five tackles for loss, two sacks and one pass breakup.

Sherman was a member of the Spring 2021 Academic All-Pioneer Football League Second Team and was named the team’s Most Outstanding Hitter during the Spring 2021 slate. A three-time member of the PFL Academic Honor Roll, Sherman has 147 career tackles plus two interceptions and one fumble recovery.
