Fall 2021: Received All-PFL Honorable Mention, Academic All-PFL Second Team and the team’s Sever Award, which is presented annually to the team’s top offensive lineman... Also named to the Phil Steele All-PFL Fourth Team... Won all of those awards for the second straight season... Saw action in 10 games.

Spring 2021: Received All-PFL Honorable Mention, Academic All-PFL Second Team and the Sever Award, which is presented annually to the team’s top offensive lineman)… Started all six games on Valpo’s offensive line, serving as the most experienced member of a young position group… Garnered the team’s Offensive Player of the Week distinction for Week 5 at Morehead State… Member of PFL Academic Honor Roll… Received Valparaiso University Presidential Academic Honors.

2019: Saw action in all 12 games and was a starter on Valpo’s offensive line… Member of PFL Honor Roll.

2018: Made his collegiate debut on Nov. 10 vs. Jacksonville… Member of the PFL Honor Roll.

Prep: Was a three-year letter winner… Named academic all-state as both a junior and senior and was an all-conference selection during his senior season… Member of the Kankakee all-area team as a senior… Named Most Valuable Senior Athlete of the Year… Also played basketball all four seasons… Was named to high honor roll in each of his four years… Finished in the Top 10 percent of his graduating class… Member of National Honor Society as a junior and senior.

Personal: Son of Kevin and Renee Byrd… Has one sister, Molly Altmyer, and one brother, Derek Byrd… Born on Dec. 20, 1999… Majoring in biomechanical engineering… Was an all-district trumpet player as a junior in high school.
