Shawn Huff (Helsinki, Finland/Makelanrinne) has been named Men's Basketball Player of the Week by the Mid-Continent Conference for his role in leading the Crusaders to key conference wins last week over Oral Roberts and Centenary.

The junior set a career high with five made 3-pointers in Valpo's overtime win Thursday over the Golden Eagles, who entered the game atop the league at 7-0. Huff hit his third triple of the game with 18 seconds to play to cut the ORU lead to two points, and followed with another 3-pointer with five seconds left to send the game to the extra session. Midway through overtime, Huff hit his fifth triple, giving Valpo the lead for good. He finished with a game-high 21 points and five rebounds.

Versus Centenary on Saturday, Huff hit three more 3-pointers and finished with 11 points and eight rebounds. His eight caroms matched his career high, set twice earlier this season. For the week, Huff averaged 16 points and 6.5 rebounds per game on 47.8% shooting and hit eight total 3-pointers.
