The Valparaiso University men’s basketball program is currently searching for students who are interested in joining the program as student managers for the 2020-2021 academic year. Any full-time Valpo student is welcome to apply. A good attitude and a strong work ethic are required. Students interested in a manager position must be available for both practices and games. Practice is typically held in the afternoon during the week, as well as often on weekends. Managers should also be available to help in small group workouts during the fall and spring, in addition to accomplishing other tasks as needed.

Valpo managers will get the opportunity to work for one of the nation’s premier mid-major programs that has made several NCAA Tournament and NIT appearances in recent years and last season had an historic run to the Missouri Valley Conference championship game. Managers will get valuable hands-on experience in collegiate athletics working with coaches, players, support staff and administration. This position offers real-world experience for any student who is interested in pursuing a career in sports administration, coaching or a related field as it helps to give those students a competitive edge over their peers. Several former Valpo managers are currently working the sports industry following their graduation.

In addition, managers will receive authentic team Nike Gear and an opportunity to work their way up to travelling to away competition.
