Media Round-Up: Powell Hire Receives Media Splash

In the week since Roger Powell Jr. was selected as the 23rd head coach of the Valparaiso University men’s basketball program, the news has received significant media attention.

A story highlighting Powell was featured in Wednesday’s Chicago Sun-Times, while the Associated Press story hit newspapers across the country. Powell has made numerous radio appearances including 670 The Score in Chicago, and was interviewed by WGN-TV Chicago and ABC-7 Chicago. Following Wednesday’s press conference, CBS 2 Chicago featured Powell’s hiring prominently during the sports segment on their 4 p.m. evening news.
