Valparaiso University men’s basketball sophomore Cooper Schwieger (Overland Park, Kan. / Blue Valley Southwest [Link Year]) is set to make a community appearance on Friday, Sept. 13 at 5 p.m. at McAfee Animal Hospital in Valparaiso.

Schwieger and junior Joe Vick (Kouts, Ind. / Kouts) will sign autographs for attendees during the family-friendly event. Head coach Roger Powell Jr. is also scheduled to attend.

Schwieger was named the MVC Freshman of the Year in 2023-24, becoming the first Valpo freshman to win the league’s top rookie/newcomer honor since Lubos Barton in 1998-99. He was recently tabbed to Blue Ribbon Yearbook’s Preseason All-Missouri Valley Conference team, one of five players in the league to earn that honor. Vick is a walk-on in his third season in the program.
