Valpo dropped a 72-48 road decision to Xavier Friday night in Cincinnati, Ohio.

David Peterson (Schererville, Ind./Highland) won a pair of events to pace the Crusaders. The junior won the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:02.70 and took home the 200 backstroke in 2:15.40.

Ansel Hillmer (Tampa, Fla./Hillsborough) had the only other win for Valpo, finishing the 100 butterfly in 59.13.

The Crusaders (0-1) will continue their season Sunday in Indianapolis when they take on Butler, Saint Louis and Evansville.
