Valpo Swimming Announces 2017-18 Schedule
Max Penn will be counted on for senior leadership this year.

The Valparaiso University men’s and women’s swimming teams will host four meets at the ARC in the 2017-18 season, as the Crusaders released their schedule Wednesday.

Valpo will kick off the 2017–18 season at the Butler Double Dual on Sunday, Oct. 1 in Fishers, Ind., taking on the Bulldogs along with Evansville, Indiana State, Saint Louis and Xavier. The team will open the home schedule on Saturday, Oct. 7 when they take on Eastern Illinois.

The following weekend on Saturday, Oct. 14, they will travel to Green Bay, Wis. to compete with the Phoenix and UIC.  The Indiana Intercollegiates meet will take place on Saturday, Oct. 21 on the campus of Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind. The Crusaders return to the Athletics –Recreation Center on Friday, Oct. 27 to take on Milwaukee.

Valparaiso heads out to Macomb, Ill. on Saturday, Nov. 4 where it will compete against Western Illinois. The next weekend on Friday, Nov. 10, the Crusaders will travel to Terre Haute, Ind. in a clash with Rose–Hulman. The team will return home the following day on Nov. 11 to take on Saginaw Valley State. The fall portion of the season will conclude at the Carthage Classic from Thursday, Nov. 30 through Saturday, Dec. 2 in Kenosha, Wis.

The Crusaders will return from winter break by taking on Eastern Illinois again, this time in Charleston, Ill. on Saturday, Jan. 13. The final home meet will take place on Saturday, Jan. 20, when the team battles against Lewis University at the ARC. The regular season wraps up the following day on Sunday, Jan. 21 at the 9th annual Butler Invite in Fishers, Ind., competing against the Bulldogs, Saint Louis, Southern Illinois and Xavier.

The next month, the women will travel to the Missouri Valley Championships from Wednesday, Feb. 14 through Saturday, Feb. 17 in Iowa City, Iowa. During the same timeframe, the men will travel to Sioux Falls, S.D. for the Summit League Championships.
