May Earns Second Weekly Award of the Season

Valpo men’s swimming junior Dominic May (Naperville, Ill./Naperville Central) has been named the Summit League Men’s Swimmer of the Week for the second time this season after some impressive swims last weekend in Valpo’s meet against Evansville.

May’s performance against the Purple Aces was highlighted by his first-place finish in the 100 free, as he touched the wall in 46.98 to earn top honors by over eight-tenths of a second. He also posted a 21.08 anchor leg in the 200 free relay — the fastest leg of any swimmer in the race — and swam a 46.93 anchor leg in Valpo’s 400 medley relay.

For May, it is his second weekly award from the Summit League, as he earned the accolade earlier this year on Jan. 19 as well. He is the first Valpo men’s swimmer to earn multiple Swimmer of the Week nods in the same season since David Peterson was twice named Mid-Con Swimmer of the Week during the 2005-06 campaign.
