The 2021-22 slate for the Valpo swimming program gets underway later this month, as the team announced its schedule today.

Action begins Sept. 26 at Butler before the program hosts an Alumni Meet at the ARC on Oct. 2 as part of Homecoming weekend. The Beacons will then travel to Evansville (Oct. 15) and Purdue (Oct. 16), and then host Eastern Illinois at Valparaiso H.S. on Oct. 23.

The Valpo women will compete at UNI Oct. 29, followed by the whole squad hosting Green Bay and Youngstown State for a tri-meet at VHS Oct. 30. Valpo travels to Southern Illinois for the SIU Invitational Nov. 11-13 and wraps up the fall semester with a dual meet at Lewis Dec. 4.

This year’s squad will take a training trip to Key Largo, Fla. during the break between semesters, highlighted by competition at the Orange Bowl Swim Classic Jan. 3. Once back in the Midwest, Valpo will host its Senior Meet at VHS against Southern Illinois Jan. 15. The regular season wraps up with meets at IUPUI (Jan. 22), Rose-Hulman (Jan. 28), Eastern Illinois (Jan. 29) and Ball State (Feb. 5 – men only).

The Valpo women will compete at the Missouri Valley Conference Championships Feb. 16-19, traveling to Iowa City, Iowa for the championship meet. Meanwhile, the men will take part in the Mid-American Conference Championships for the first time, which will be held March 3-5 at Southern Illinois.
