The Valpo men’s swimming team was represented by a trio of student-athletes on Wednesday as the Mid-American Conference announced its 2021-22 Academic All-MAC Team.

Senior Derek Eidson (Ventura, Calif./Ventura), an economics major with a 3.332 cumulative GPA, earned postseason recognition for his work in the classroom for a second straight year, as he was an Academic All-Summit League honoree last season. Eidson was joined this year by fellow senior Rick Renner (Chantilly, Va./Lake Braddock), who maintains a 3.283 GPA as an actuarial science major, and sophomore Logan Lorr (Wonder Lake, Ill./Woodstock North), a civil engineering major with a 3.364 GPA.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
