Valpo swimming head coach Maggie Kroemer announced the program’s schedule for the upcoming 2022-23 campaign Friday afternoon, a slate which includes five home competitions at the Valparaiso Aquatic Center.

Before the regular season gets underway, the program will host its annual Alumni Meet at the ARC Pool on Homecoming Saturday, Sept. 24. Competition begins with a special meet on Saturday, Oct. 1, as the Beacons will be the visitors for the first intercollegiate swim meet for first-year program Southern Indiana.

Valpo’s first home meet will be against Evansville on Friday, Oct. 13. The Beacons will compete later that month in a tri-meet at Eastern Illinois with Bellarmine (Oct. 22) and at Green Bay (Oct. 29).

Valpo will look to hit its peak of the first half of the season Nov. 10-12 at the SIU Invitational. The final meet of the fall semester is a home tri-meet on Dec. 2, as the Beacons welcome Butler and Lewis to town.

Once the calendar flips to 2023, Valpo returns to the pool on Jan. 13 for its Senior Night meet against Rose-Hulman. One week later, on Jan. 20, the Beacons will host a tri-meet with Eastern Illinois and Wabash before heading to St. Louis the next day for a tri-meet with SLU and Little Rock.

The full squad will compete Sunday, Jan. 29 at the Butler Invitational, which will serve as the regular season finale for the women’s team. The men will wrap up their regular season on Feb. 3 in a dual meet at home against Ball State.

The women will conclude the campaign at the Missouri Valley Conference Championships, slated for Feb. 15-18 in Iowa City, Iowa. The men’s season comes to a close at the Mid-American Conference Championships in Oxford, Ohio March 1-4.
