Crusaders Corral Mavericks
Eric Honert won handily at No. 1 singles Saturday afternoon against Nebraska-Omaha. The junior lost just one game to Conner Tieszen

After six days off, the Valparaiso Crusaders came out refreshed as they defeated Nebraska-Omaha 5-2 Saturday afternoon at The Courts of NWI.  

Valpo (11-7, 0-2 HL) won all three doubles matches before freshman Michael Baiocchi clinched the victory with a 6-3, 6-2 triumph over Carlos Ramos Salazar at #4 singles.

Junior Eric Honert made quick work of Conner Tieszen at #1 singles with a 6-1, 6-0 win.

At #2 singles, Chris Baum prevailed over John Ellis 6-4, 6-3.  Freshman Michael Savaglio gave Valpo its fifth and final point at #3 singles, defeating Connor Larson 6-4, 7-6 (7-2).  

Valparaiso can guarantee a winning season with a victory tomorrow against the Detroit Titans (4-11, 0-3 HL). The match begins at 1:00 pm at the Valpo Tennis Complex.
