Men's Tennis Earns ITA All-Academic Accolades

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced Thursday that Valparaiso University is one of 80 squads named to its list of All-Academic Teams.

The ITA also recognized graduated senior Eric Honert (Arvada, Colo./Ralston Valley), Michael Savaglio (Kenosha, Wis./Mary D. Bradford), and Jeffrey Schorsch (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg) for their individual work in the classroom. The trio was amongst a group of just over 450 student-athletes across Division I named ITA Scholar Athletes.

"The ITA wishes to congratulate all schools named to the ITA All-Academic Team and the ITA Scholar-Athletes for achieving great success both on and off the court," said David Benjamin, ITA Executive Director.

In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must be a varsity letter winner, possess a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters (including freshman through senior year).
