Schorsch to Compete at National Summer Circuit Championships

Jeffrey Schorsch (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg)'s busy - but successful - summer will culminate next weekend at the 2014 ITA/USTA National Summer Championships in Bloomington, Indiana. Indiana University will host the four-day event beginning Saturday, August 9th. Schorsch earned the invitation after winning the Midwest section of the ITA National Summer Circuit.

The sophomore has downed some of the region's best talent in singles play over the past two months: Michael Treis of Western Michigan, Elliot Yee, Jacob Rother, and Michael Sellitto of Indiana, Wyatt McCoy of Notre Dame, Konrad Zieba of Northwestern, Paul Oosterbaan of Georgia, and Brett Forman of Michigan State. All in all, Schorsch made the semifinals of singles at Purdue, was the doubles champion at Purdue, the singles champion at Western Michigan, a semifinalist in doubles at Western Michigan, a semifinalist in doubles at Notre Dame and reached the semifinals of singles at Notre Dame.

Not limiting himself to just singles action, Schorsch will team up with Charlie Emhardt (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) to compete in the doubles portion of the national competition. Junior Brian Hickey (Western Springs, Ill./Fenwick) will also be participating.
