Schorsch Named HL Men's Tennis Player of the Week

Jeffrey Schorsch (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg), the reigning Horizon League Player of the Year, earned his first Player of the Week honor of the 2015-16 season Tuesday.

Schorsch went 2-0 at No. 1 singles and 1-1 at No. 1 doubles alongside Charlie Emhardt (Carmel, Ind./Carmel). On Saturday, Schorsch defeated Wisconsin's Josef Dodridge 6-4, 6-4, atop singles play. For an encore, he dispatched Western Michigan's Mauk Steiner 6-2, 6-0, on Sunday afternoon after teaming up with Emhardt to beat #37 Stephen Payne/Jefta Kecic, 6-2.  

The junior now owns a 12-2 singles record and a 12-6 mark in doubles play. Schorsch and Emhardt earned the #33 ranking in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) Jan. 5th release. The Crusaders head to Indianapolis Saturday to face Butler at 10 am ET/9 am CT and IUPUI at 5 pm ET/4 pm CT.
