A two-time boys' tennis singles champion from the Sooner State inked a financial aid agreement with Valparaiso University on Friday. Daniel Langston (Ponca City, Okla./Ponca City) signed his name on the dotted line today, a logistical move that puts him one step closer to donning the Brown and Gold this upcoming fall as a freshman.

"Daniel is a great addition to the program here at Valpo. He comes from a great family that values academics along with athletics. He has unbelievable upside as he has only scratched the surface of what he will become. To be a two-time Oklahoma state singles champion while being from an area at least 60 miles from the nearest quality hitting partners says a lot about him. He's a competitor and a workhorse," head coach Jim Daugherty said.

Langston was a four-star recruit as ranked by TennisRecruiting.net. Furthermore, the talent evaluation website listed Langston as the 143rd player in the nation, the third-best in the state of Oklahoma, and No. 16 in the Gulf States region. The right-hander amassed a 91-4 record at Ponca High School during a prep career highlighted by two state singles championships. As a freshman, he earned state runner-up honors in singles play.

"He completes a class along with Brandon and Franklin that we truly believe will help take our program to the next level," Daugherty concluded.

Langston joins Brandon Ancona (Belvidere, Ill./Rockford Christian) and Franklin Brozovich (Fort Gratiot, Mich./Port Huron North) as incoming Crusader freshmen in 2016. Ancona wrapped up his prep career with the No. 2 ranking in Illinois and the 163rd national spot, exactly one slot ahead of Brozovich on the national radar. Brozovich was 14th in the Great Lakes region and No. 7 in the state of Michigan.
