Valpo has Six Athletes Named All Mid-Con in Indoor Track and Field

Six athletes on the Valparaiso University men's track and field team were named to the All Mid-Continent Conference Team for the indoor season following their performances at the weekend's conference championships.

Nate Nunnelly (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso H.S.) was the champion in the mile, winning the race by nearly a full second with a time of 4:18.69. He also finished in third place in the 800m run, crossing the finish line in 1:56.39.

Aaron Crague (Schererville, Ind./Lake Central H.S.) also was crowned conference champion at the meet. The fifth-year senior won the 3,000m run by two seconds with a time of 8:38.21. Crague then finished second in the 5,000m in 15:08.62, two seconds behind the winner. Finally, he turned in a fifth place performance in the mile with a time of 4:21.59.

Joshua Lee (Yellow Jacket, Colo./Montezuma-Cortez H.S.) also garnered Mid-Con accolades after finishing in third place in the long jump. The sophomore's best leap was 21'10 1/4".

Kyle Jones (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso H.S.), Jed Reisetter (Lewiston, Minn./Lewiston-Altura H.S.), and Dennis Kabara (Chuka, Kenya/Meru H.S.) joined Nunnelly on the runner-up distance medley relay, crossing the line in 10:33.84, just two seconds out of the top spot.

As a team, the Crusaders finished in fourth place at the championships.
