Carroll Signs to Play Softball at Valpo

Valparaiso University head softball coach Jerry Stieger has announced the signing of Megan Carroll to a National Letter of Intent to play for the Brown and Gold in the spring of 2004.

The Eaton Rapids, Mich. native was a First Team All-Conference selection at Eaton Rapids High School that plays the infield and can also pitch.

As a junior, Carroll was 12-3 with a 1.70 earned run average in the circle with 93 strikeouts. At the plate she hit .328 with 22 runs batted in.

?Megan is a versatile athlete with a left-handed bat that will add speed to our lineup," Stieger said.

Carroll will join Taylor Callahan as freshman in 2004 who signed with the Brown and Gold during the early signing period.
