A number of promotions are set for this week's Valparaiso softball home games, highlighted by Saturday's doubleheader against Horizon League foe UIC being designated as Youth Day.

All youths eighth grade and younger are invited to come out for Saturday's 1 p.m. doubleheader against UIC on Youth Day. Admission will be free for the youngsters, as well as their accompanying parents and coaches. The youths will be able to meet the Crusader mascot before the game and join Valpo on the field for the introduction of starting lineups and the national anthem. After the doubleheader, the Crusaders will be available to meet the youngsters and sign autographs.

Also this week, Valpo's home non-league doubleheader against Bowling Green on Tuesday at 3 p.m. has been designated Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day, recognizing all faculty and staff of Valparaiso University, as well as Civic Engagement Appreciation Day for Crusader student-athletes.
