Valparaiso senior Amanda Wisniewski (Skokie, Ill./Huntley) has been named Horizon League Player of the Week after her stellar performance at the plate for the Crusaders at last weekend's Ragin' Cajun Invitational.

Wisniewski hit .538 (7-of-13) over the Crusaders' five games, earning All-Tournament Team honors. The senior scored four runs and tallied four RBIs, while also walking three times.

Wisniewski's best game came in the opener on Saturday, in Valpo's second matchup of the weekend against Central Arkansas, as she connected on a pair of solo home runs en route to a 3-for-3, 3-R, 3-RBI day. Wisniewski now has three home runs on the year and 21 for her career, just one round-tripper shy of third place on Valpo's all-time chart.

Wisniewski also tallied a hit and a walk while scoring a run in the Crusaders' first game against Central Arkansas, and closed out the tournament against Memphis by going 2-for-3 with an RBI and a walk. She now has drawn a team-best eight walks on the season, giving her 86 career free passes, one shy of second place in Crusader history.

For Wisniewski, the weekly award from the league office was the first of her career, while she is now the sixth member of this year's Crusader squad to have earned at least one weekly honor during their careers. Wisniewski and the rest of the Crusaders return to action in two weekends at Arizona's Wildcat Invitational.
