Hecker Named to MVC All-Defensive Team

Valpo softball junior outfielder Regi Hecker (Lee’s Summit, Mo./Blue Springs South) represented the Beacons on the Missouri Valley Conference All-Defensive Team as the conference office announced this season’s postseason award winners Wednesday morning.

After starting the season in right field, Hecker moved over to center field around the midway point of the campaign and has continued to excel defensively. She has tallied 83 putouts this year and has also racked up eight outfield assists, five of which have come within Valley play. The eight outfield assists is the most by a Valpo outfielder since 2015.
