Norman Earns Mid-Con Player of the Week Honor

Valparaiso University junior Cyndi Norman (Minooka, Ill./Minooka H.S.) was named the Mid-Continent Conference Player of the Week after leading the Crusaders to the championship in the Crusader Classic.

The setter began the week by dishing out 32 assists in the Brown and Gold's victory at UMBC on Monday. On Friday in the tournament, Norman had seven kills, 52 assists, 15 digs, and hit .385 in Valpo's win over Northeastern. In the victory over Jacksonville on Saturday, she added eight kills, 46 assists, 12 digs, and hit .667, while finishing off the day with a six-kill, 37-assist, 14-dig performance in the victory over Fairfield , hitting .417.

The Crusader Classic Most Valuable Player, Norman averaged 11.25 assists per game, 3.42 digs per game during the tournament. For the week, she hit .524, with 25 kills and just three errors. She has recorded double-doubles in six of her last seven matches.
