The Valparaiso volleyball team won its second straight match at the Ball State Classic on Saturday morning as the Crusaders defeated Albany in three games 30-21, 30-22, 33-31 in Muncie, Ind.
The Crusaders got ten kills from Lauren Moulton (Elgin, Ill./Larkin H.S.) and eight more from Jessi Novak (Antigo, Wis./Antigo H.S.) in the victory. As a team, the Brown and Gold hit .222 for the match while holding the Great Danes to just .137.
Sara Silcox (Michigan City, Ind./Michigan City H.S.) added 20 digs defensively for the Crusaders, while Amy Palash (Winfield, Ill./Saint Francis H.S.) added 14 more.
Ashley DeNeal and Shelby Goldman each had 11 kills for Albany (0-3), while Eileen Rodriguez added 20 digs.
Valparaiso (2-1) will face the host Cardinals for the tournament title this evening beginning at 7:30 p.m.
