All 14 Crusaders saw action on Saturday evening at the Athletics-Recreation Center as Valparaiso defeated Centenary 30-11, 30-13, 30-19.
Valpo hit .444 for the match with 49 kills and just five attack errors, while holding the Ladies to a .000 hitting percentage. Valpo outdug Centenary 50-38 and outblocked the Ladies 9-1 for the match.
Amy Palash (Winfield, Ill./Saint Francis H.S.) and Tiffany Meikle (Cottage Grove, Wis./Monona Grove H.S.) led the way offensively for the Brown and Gold with eight kills each. Sara Silcox (Michigan City, Ind./Michigan City H.S.) recorded 14 digs defensively, while Jessie Fox (Granger, Ind./Penn H.S.) tallied four blocks. Sara Hughes (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg H.S.) dished out 24 assists in the win.
Ashley Temper led Centenary (4-14, 0-2 Mid-Con) with 11 kills and ten digs, while Catey Batte registered 13 digs.
Valparaiso (11-3, 2-0) has now won five straight matches and will conclude its homestand Wednesday evening with a non-conference tilt against DePaul. First serve is set for 7 p.m. at the ARC.
