Brittany Marks Named to Shamrock Invitational All-Tournament Team

Sophomore libero Brittany Marks (Elkhart, Ind./Memorial) has been named to the Shamrock Invitational All-Tournament Team after helping the Brown and Gold to a third-place finish at the event, hosted by Notre Dame.

Marks, who was also a member of the All-Tournament team at the season-opening Chicagoland Classic, continued her strong play with 71 digs in three matches against #21 Notre Dame, #13 Missouri and Idaho. Marks had at least 22 digs in each match, averaging 5.46 digs/game, and added four service aces.

The defending Mid-Con Defensive Player of the Week, Marks has been named to three All-Tournament teams in her brief career.

Marks and the Crusaders (4-3) will be back in action this weekend at the Cyclone Classic in Ames, Iowa. Valpo will square off with Iowa State Friday at 6:30 p.m. before battling South Dakota State Saturday at 11:00 a.m. The Crusaders will play one more match in Iowa, Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. against Drake, although that match is not part of the Cyclone Classic.
