Crusaders Picked Second in Horizon League Preseason Poll

The Valparaiso volleyball squad has been predicted to finish second in the Horizon League in 2008, as chosen by the league’s nine head coaches.  The Crusaders tallied 56 points and received one first-place vote.

Each of the coaches ranked the teams one through eight, omitting their own squad from the voting.  Teams received eight points for a first-place vote down to one point for an eighth-place vote.

Cleveland State was the unanimous choice to win the league, registering 64 points and eight first-place votes.  Milwaukee tallied 50 points to place third, followed by UIC (38), Butler (31) and Youngstown State (27).  Wright State (24) was picked seventh, while Loyola (20) and Green Bay (14) rounded out the polling.
