Valparaiso University bowling head coach Matt Nantais announced today that Becky Lohse has signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the Crusader program as a freshman for the 2016-17 season.
Lohse, a local product of Chesterton H.S., helped lead her team to back-to-back conference titles. As a junior in 2015, she won the regional singles title before going on to finish third at semi-state and fifth at state, earning All-Tournament honors at the state tournament. This season, she placed second at regionals and 14th at semi-state. A two-time First Team All-Area honoree by the Post-Tribune, Lohse competed at the 2015 Junior Gold Championships and finished sixth in the 2015 NWIJTPA standings, competing at the Michiana Cup.
“Becky is what every coach looks for in a recruit,” said Nantais. “She is dedicated to school work, she is a great teammate and has a desire to win. I have watched her over the past few years and she continues to improve. She has no problem putting in the effort it takes in the classroom as well as on the lanes. We are very excited that Becky has joined our Crusader family.”
