Six Valpo Bowlers Named to SBL Academic Honor Roll

The Valpo bowling program was well represented Monday as the Southland Bowling League released its 2020-21 Academic Honor Roll, as six members of the Brown and Gold earned the academic accolade.

Receiving the honor for a third straight season was graduated senior Payton Bertermann (Grayslake, Ill./North), who graduated in May with her degree in actuarial science with a 3.693 GPA. Junior Allura Magsino (Hoffman Estates, Ill./Hoffman Estates) and sophomore Noelle Doody (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) each earned a spot on the honor roll for a second straight year.

Joining the aforementioned trio were three student-athletes who just completed their freshman year at Valpo: Addy Bates (Cedar Park, Texas/Cedar Park), Ruth Magaña (Federal Way, Wash./Decatur) and Isabella Palamaro (Thiells, N.Y./North Rockland).

Honorees must have a minimum 3.00 cumulative grade point average and must have completed one full year at the institution. In all, 62 SBL student-athletes earned a spot on the SBL Academic Honor Roll this year.
