Valpo Bowling Announces 2021-22 Schedule

The Valpo bowling team has nine tournaments on its regular season schedule for the 2021-22 season, highlighted by the hosting of the Valpo Bowling Classic at Stardust Bowl III in Dyer in late October.

Valpo opens the campaign Oct. 15-17 at the MOTIV Penguin Classic, hosted by Youngstown State in Struthers, Ohio. The Beacons then host the Valpo Bowling Classic Oct. 29-31, Valpo’s 12th early-season home tournament in the program’s 13 seasons. Valpo will be hosting its tournament at Stardust Bowl III for the first time, however.

Two more tournaments are on the docket to close out the fall semester of action. Valpo will travel to Conroe, Texas for the Track Kat Klash Nov. 5-7, hosted by Sam Houston State. The next weekend, the Beacons compete at the SFA Ladyjacks Classic, which will be contested in Waukesha, Wis.

Competition in the spring semester starts up Jan. 21-23 at the Peacocks Classic in Waterloo, Iowa, hosted by Upper Iowa. Next up is a trip to Harrogate, Tenn. for Lincoln Memorial’s Railsplitter Classic Feb. 4-6, followed the next weekend by a short journey to Lockport, Ill. for the Flyer Classic, hosted by Lewis.

A pair of traditional stops on the schedule close out regular season action for the Beacons. Valpo will compete in the Big Red Invitational in Lincoln, Neb. Feb. 25-27, taking part in Nebraska’s home tournament for the 12th time. The regular season ends with Valpo’s 11th appearance at the Columbia 300 Music City Classic, hosted by Vanderbilt in Smyrna, Tenn. March 18-20.

The Southland Bowling League Championship will be contested March 25-27 in Hanrahan, La., with the league’s champion earning an automatic bid to the 2022 NCAA Championship.
