The Valpo bowling team finished out the Track Kat Klash in Conroe, Texas on Sunday with three best-of-seven baker matches in bracket play.

How It Happened

• Valpo opened bracket play against Alabama State Sunday. The Beacons fell behind 3-0 before a narrow two-pin victory in game four extended the match. A 210 from Alabama State in game five ended the contest, however.
• The loss dropped Valpo into a matchup with Southern. Valpo jumped out to a lead by winning the first game, but Southern won the next four to close out a 4-1 decision.
• Valpo was pitted against Texas Southern in its final match of the weekend. Again, the Beacons took the opening game of the contest, but just as in the prior match, Texas Southern took the next four games as Valpo finished the tournament in 14^th

Valpo (17-21) closes out competition for the fall semester next weekend at the SFA LadyJacks Classic, hosted by Stephen F. Austin in Waukesha, Wis. The three-day event starts on Friday.
