Valparaiso University’s Brianna Davy (Schererville, Ind./Lake Central H.S.) will compete this weekend in the Futures Tour South Shore Championship held at White Hawk Country Club in Crown Point, Ind.
Davy, a rising sophomore at Valpo, will play as an amateur in the professional event, competing on an exemption to become the first Northwest Indiana player to play in the event.
As a freshman for the Crusaders last season, Davy set a school record with an 18-hole round of 76 as well as a 36-hole tournament record at 154. She posted a pair of top-10 finishes and finished her rookie campaign with an 83.8 stroke average.
The South Shore Championship will take place Thursday -Saturday, June 30-July 2. Davy will be the first Crusader in school history to compete in an event on a professional tour.
