Crusaders Finish Seventh to Close Valpo Invitational

Valparaiso University finished in seventh place on Tuesday as the Crusaders wrapped up play in their first home golf tournament in program history, the Valpo Invitational, played at The Course at Aberdeen. The Crusaders shot 324 in the final round to finish at 644 for the tournament, just one stroke out of fifth place and four shots out of fourth.

The 2011-2012 women’s golf season begins with a great deal of optimism for the Valparaiso Crusaders. Mat Blair has taken over the helm of the third year program, which finished sixth at the Horizon League Championships, and he inherits eight letterwinners and one new freshman. Valpo looks to continue the steady improvement that the program has shown since it was formed prior to the 2009-2010 campaign.


First Home Tournament Part of Women's Golf's Fall Slate
