Valpo Women Ink Two Golfers to National Letters of Intent
Coach Blair has added two players to his roster for the fall.

Valparaiso University women’s golf coach Mat Blair has announced that Annie Gaugert and Olivia McCormick have signed National Letters of Intent to play for the Crusaders beginning this fall.

Gaugert, a native of Lake Geneva, Wis., was a two-time Honorable Mention All-State selection for Badger High School.  The Southern Lakes Conference Player of the Year as a junior, she earned All-Conference accolades each of her four seasons with the Badgers.  She was a sectional qualifier twice during her prep career, missing out on a trip to the state championships by just one stroke as a senior.  She also earned First Team All-County honors as a junior and senior.

“Annie brings to Valpo a great competitive edge,” Blair stated.  “She is a real fighter.”

McCormick, a native of Grant Park, Ill., was a three-time state qualifier for Grant Park High School.  She was also a three-time regional champion, having also won and finished second at the sectional championships.  McCormick was three times the River Valley Conference champion as well during her prep career, as well as being a four-time team Most Valuable Player.

“Olivia wants to play at the next level,” Blair added.  “She is going to bring her best game every time she tees it up.”

Gaugert and McCormick join Sibil Gill, who signed earlier in the year, as freshmen at Valpo next season.

“With the addition of Olivia and Annie, our future is much brighter,” Blair stated. “Those are the type of recruits that will help us compete for a Horizon League Championship and for berths in the NCAA Championships.  I am really excited about Sibil, Annie, and Olivia making an impact here at Valpo.”
