The Valparaiso women’s golf team opened play at the IPFW Spring Classic on Easter Sunday at Pine Valley Country Club in Fort Wayne. Valpo finished in seventh place with a team score of 334.

Junior Sibil Gill (Kokomo, Ind./Western) led the Crusaders with an 80 over the first 18 holes and finished in a tie for 19^th.

Sophomore Sydney Shrum (Cloverdale, Ind./Cloverdale) finished in a tie for 29^th with an 83, two strokes off her season low for a round.

Junior Angie Gaugert (Lake Geneva, Wis./Badger) shot an 84 to finish in a tie for 31^st.

The freshman duo of Katie Willenbrink (Mishawaka, Ind./Penn) and Kiana Jongsma (Dyer, Ind./Lake Central) rounded out the Crusaders scoring with an 87 and 89 as they ended the day in ties for 43^rd and 48^th, respectively.

Senior A.J. Selig (Hortonville, Wis./Appleton West) carded a 91 as an individual to finish 53^rd.

Valpo returns to the links on Monday for the conclusion of the IPFW Spring Classic as well as their final round of play before the Horizon League Championship. Results will be posted to ValpoAthletics.com following conclusion of the meet.
