Crusader Women’s Golf Closes Out Round One at Myrtle Beach
Sibil Gill led the Crusaders on the opening day of the Golfweek Program Challenge.

The Valparaiso Crusader women’s golf team traveled to Myrtle Beach, S.C. to play in the Golfweek Program Challenge at Caledonia Golf and Fish Club. Sunday concluded round one of the three-day, 54-hole tournament.

The Crusaders shot a combined 320 for the day on the par-71, 6,002-yard course to place them in 16th place going into round two tomorrow. Senior Sibil Gill (Kokomo, Ind./Western) led the team with a 76 on Sunday - just five over par - placing her tied for 40th individually.

Juniors Angie Kim (Schaumburg, Ill./Fremd) and Sydney Shrum (Cloverdale, Ind./Cloverdale) both shot an 81 (+10), while Kim led the team with two birdies. Freshman Madison McCreary finished with an 82 (+11) on the day, and freshman Kylie Shoemake rounded out the Crusaders’ team score with an 85 (+14).

Old Dominion leads the challenge after shooting a 287 (+4) on Sunday.
